| A retailer is classified as a dealer who purchases
Harcourt Trade Publishers titles for resale to end-consumers.
Qualifying accounts include bookstores and other specialty retailers:
gift stores, toy stores, grocery stores, membership clubs, book
fairs, home demonstration companies, and direct mail catalogs
(whose customers are individuals). |

Discounts and Terms |

We offer discount schedules on both a returnable and
non-returnable basis. Returnable customers may qualify for free
freight. All titles of all Harcourt Trade Publishers imprints
combine for discount. All discounts are based on list prices,
which are subject to change without notice. Damaged or defective
books will be replaced at no extra charge.
Payment terms are Net 60 days.
Transportation charges are F.O.B. - shipping point (usually
Troy, Missouri). Harcourt reserves the right to use the carrier
of our choice. Expedited service will be shipped per the customer's
request and at the customer's expense. Harcourt will not accept
responsibility for shipments made via untraceable means at
the request of the customer; Harcourt disclaims responsibility
for such shipments.
Harcourt Trade Publishers offers a Distribution Center Policy
for qualifying retailers.
