Scarlett Thomas is the author of several novels. She was named by the Independent on Sunday as one of the 20 Best British Young Writers, in 2001. In 2002, she was awarded Writer of the Year at the Elle Style Awards. She writes for Scotland on Sunday, the Independent on Sunday, and the Literary Review and has written for the Guardian, Butterfly, the Stealth Corporation and Black Book. She lives in Canterbury and teaches writing at the University of Kent.
